The Belarusian strategic offensive operation received the code name "Bagration" in honor of the Leo of the Russian Army, the prince, general from infantry Peter Ivanovich Bagration. During the operation, Hitler three times changed the leadership of the Army Groups "North" and "Center", rearranged and removed one army commander after another. Despite this, the troops of the 1st Baltic, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Belorussian fronts during the "fifth Stalinist blow" were cut off the Belarusian balcony, which, like a cancer tumor, tormented the body of Belarus. As a result, the gates were broken into East Prussia and to the boundaries of the Third Reich. German generals evaluated the operation of Bagration as events that directly approaching a monstrous catastrophe, a number of Western historians as a "catastrophe of unimaginable sizes, a greater than Stalingrad", politicians - as “victories of great importance”.
Three quarters of the century have passed since the operation of the Bagration, but interest in it does not weaken. This book is devoted to the issues of planning, preparing and conducting this operation
