The monograph is dedicated to the external policy of the ancient Rome of the period of the kings and the Early Republic. The work draws attention to the fact that at these stages of its development, Rome created not the state in the modern sense, but rather the federation, and with the developed self -government of its participants. Thanks to the system of mutually beneficial agreements, Rome has become a political center among the peoples of ancient Italy. At the same time, in ancient Rome, the remnants of tribal relations were preserved for a long time. Attention is also paid to the development of military affairs of Rome. It is noted that in ancient Rome there were no defensive walls for a long time, which predisposed the Romans to the offensive type of warfare. The Romans created the tactics of fighting a battle that would be consistent with the features of weapons of fighters and would allow them to quickly conduct military training among recruits, which provided the Romans with high mobilization opportunities. However, the classically represented warrior in Lorik of the Sigment in the royal period was not yet.
