This book - as a historical study, the novel - is devoted to the history of the development and extinction of one of the most famous and mysterious births of the Russian Empire - the princes of the Yusupovs.
Despite the previously known publications about this family, the author reveals the history of the formation and functioning of family values, the rich collections of members of the princely family, showing it against the backdrop of the historical and artistic life of Russia and Europe of the XVIII-XX centuries.
Detailed biographies of members of this richest court family, from the Khan of Yusuf-Murza to the brilliant hang of Felix Yusupov, faithfully serving the Russian sovereigns. Previously unpublished information from various archives was used, the "curse of the Yusupov clan" was examined in detail, special attention was paid to the relations of the princely family with representatives of the royal family of the last Russian emperor Nicholas II.
The author paid special attention to visiting almost all palaces, houses, estates and places of residence of the princely family in Russia and abroad before and after the 1917 revolution, described the history of their construction, collected rich illustrated material.
