“Greeks” and “barbarians”, “Christians” and “heretics”, “backwardness” and “civilization” - where did these contrasts come from and why, on which the whole history of Europe relies? A person defines himself, peering into the “others” and highlighting the features that distinguish him from them. But, having taken this image for the true one, he builds ideas about the world around him in accordance with this way. According to the Catalan historian prof. Fountains (1931–2018), the prevailing pan -European identity - the sum of reflections in curves, the result of a linear, simplified view of history.
