The basis of this book, for which the preceding collection of Sophocles and its tragic creativity was compiled by articles, comments and other materials prepared for the "Theater of Euripides" translated by I.F. Annensky edited and commented by F.F. Zelinsky, TT. 1-3 (1916-1921), as well as his articles of previous years related to the work of Euripides. To expand the idea of the myth underlying a particular tragedy, transfers and excerpts from the author’s fiction works were also involved.
