The collective monograph covers the problems of the political history of the countries of central and southeastern Europe during the end of the XX - early XXI century, during which this region was even more divided into two parts - the central (Vishegrad four) and southeastern (Balkans) Europe. The material of the regional and country analysis shows that the gap in the development of with the "Old Europe" has not been overcome: the situation is repeated both the interwar bourgeois and the socialist periods of their history. For the first time in the regional context, the vectors of political development of Greece and Turkey were also analyzed.
