In his work, the largest American macro-chistor William McCun (1917-2016) proposed a fundamentally new interpretation of world history, in the center of which is a huge influence of epidemic diseases on human societies. Political, economic, demographic, environmental, cultural and psychological aspects of interaction between people and infections, Maknil trains starting with premise history, placing a special emphasis on events such as Antoninov Plague in the Roman Empire, Black Plague in Europe of the XIV century, epidemics of the XIX century, epidemics of the XIX century. Thanks to the scale of the material and the novelty of the theoretical approach “Epidemia and Peoples”, first published in 1976, immediately became an intellectual bestseller. Attention to work at the time of her first edition was provided by the alarming forecasts of the author. In the 1970s, many scientists and doctors were inclined to the conclusion that the great epidemics of the past managed to win, but Maknil warned that new meetings with fatal infections were inevitable, since a person remains a biological being. In the future, this forecast has been repeatedly confirmed-from the rapid spread of AIDS from the 1980s to the current global pandemic of coronavirus
