At the beginning of the 13th century, a huge Khorezm state arose in the Muslim East, which included Central Asia and Iran. Its rulers are commonly called Khorezmshah. This book tells about their rapid elevation and dizzying fall. The history of Khorezm is full of paradoxes and riddles. For example, how did it happen that Mongol-Christian, who came from the East, invaded the expanses of Central Asia? They were headed by the leaders with the names of George, Ilya, the last of them were called in Europe "king David." They were so successful that they turned the Khorezmian sultans into their tributaries. But in the end, both Christian and Muslim rulers were destroyed by the Horde of Genghis Khan. Why and how did this happen? Did the state of Khorezmshahi have a chance to survive in this struggle? How did the fate of the last rulers of Khorezm - Muhammad II and Jelal Ed -Din Mengburne?
