In the monograph of the doctor of philological sciences, professor of Chechen State University Ahmed Khusikhanov, the evolution of the literary relations of Russia with the countries of Western Europe is presented, starting from the era of Ancient Russia and ending with the 20th century. The main heads of the study are devoted to literary Russia with such leading Western countries as England, France and Germany. A separate chapter is devoted to translation as a form of interlitering connections. The problems of the translation of the artistic heritage of Russian classics are analyzed (F.M. Dostoevsky, M.E. Saltykov-Shchedrin, L.N. Tolstoy) into English, German and French and his perception by the Western reader
