The publication proposed to the reader is the first translation into the Russian language of the posthumously published monograph by Oswald Spengler, written by him in the last years of his life. The book consistently examines crops from the Stone Age to antiquity. The previous historiosophy of the "sunset of Europe" is significantly corrected by the consideration of the "amoebic cultures" of the Neolithic and the Bronze Age, within the framework of which, according to Spengler, three main types of worldviews that exist in humans were formed. In his last book, Spengler not only anticipated many discoveries of future generations of historians and archaeologists in the field of ancient history, but also formulated promising methodological approaches to historical science as such
