Here is the first book in Russian, dedicated to this death camp. For the first time, key documents of the Polish-Soviet emergency commission, the memoirs of the survivors of prisoners, and translations from German and Polish are published. Maidanek was considered one of the most terrible and at the same time profitable SS concentration camps. Some newly arrived prisoners tried to transfer to Auschwitz (Auschwitz) after several days of stay, because they could not withstand terrible conditions of detention.
