The book is devoted to the formation and development of the community of astronauts, uniting all cosmonauts of the USSR, Russia and other countries. The first edition was published in the URSS publishing house in 2013, and this was the first monograph in Russia and the world dedicated to the study of the Cosmonauts community. In the year of the 60th anniversary of the first flight of a person, the second, supplemented and fixed edition goes into space.
Studies of research of the candidate of sociological sciences L.V. Ivanova and Doctor of Philosophical Sciences, candidate of technical sciences, professor S.V. Krichevsky in 2007–2021 are published. The basis of the work on the history of the creation and development of the detachment of cosmonauts of the USSR/Russia in 1960–2021, the results of historical and sociological studies performed in 2010–2012 occupy a significant place. In connection with the 50th anniversary of the first flight of a person into space. New materials and information on sources and literature 2014–2021 are included.
