V.E. Blackrin, a member of the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences, a professor at the University of St. Petersburg, considers the history of Danish historiography from runic petroglyphs to modern works. All texts are analyzed in the aspects of the creative gift and the degree of accuracy of their creators, as well as the influence that the political situation and the changing models of life and historical schemes had on them. This study is carried out against the background of the history of a cultural society, which the book pays considerable attention, necessary due to the absence of such general developments in Denmark in Russian science. The focus is the features of the personal self -awareness of the Middle Ages, the new and modern times, which changed in connection with both ethnic and social aculture.
