The new monograph by the historian V.E. Molodyakov continues the cycle of work on the French nationalism of the first half of the twentieth century and is the first in Russian historiography by the comprehensive study of the political and propaganda activities of the Action Francaise, directed against Germany as a “hereditary enemy”. The author considers the ideas and actions of irreconcilable Germanophobes led by Charles Morras in the context of the internal and foreign policy of France and its relations with Germany during the period from Hitler’s coming to power to defeat in the summer of 1940.
