The book “Channel“ Moscow-Volga ”and its role in the history of the capital: on the 80th anniversary of the battle for Moscow” is the first post-Soviet popular science publication dedicated to this topic. For the first time in one publication, the Moscow -Volga channel (now the Moscow channel) was considered both as a socially significant historical phenomenon, unique among world hydraulic creatures, and as a defensive structure. In the publication, special attention is focused on the role of the channel in the defense of Moscow in 1941 - this stage is distinguished as one of the key in the history of the Great Patriotic War
