Cartographic method and geoinformation systems in engineering geology

The theoretical foundations of the cartographic method of research in science of land are considered. The principles of constructing a sign language and the methodology of engineering and geological mapping are formulated. The ways of classification, grouping and generalization of information for engineering and geological maps are shown. The practical application of engineering and geological maps for regional monitoring has been considered. Examples consider the methodology of using GIS to build digital models of the engineering and geological structure of the territory. The methodological and methodological justification of the procedures of engineering and geological mapping and zoning is given. It is intended for undergraduate students, magistrates and specialty in the group of areas "Applied Geology, Mining, Oil and Gas Affairs and Geodesy", including for specializations "Searching and exploration of groundwater and engineering and geological surveys", "Landscaping and cadastrals" and for students secondary vocational education in the direction of land-property relations" in the development of educational disciplines of regional content.
