The book is dedicated to the essential, personal and domestic aspects of artistic translation. The first section is associated with the analysis of the translation concept of the Soviet poet, prose writer, literary critic Alexander Tsybulevsky (1928-1975) The brevity of Japanese and Russian poetry, Russian translations of the 129th Shane Shakespeare, the transformation of the Russian language in the emigrant bilingual environment, the method of poetic translation of Mandelstam and the translation of his works into foreign languages, as well as the work of Rilke and the relationship of Georgian and Russian poetry are considered. The second section contains thoughts on the translation practice of Osip Mandelstam, Benedict Livshits, Semyon Lipkin, Arkady Steinberg, Alexander Tsybulevsky and Svetlana Gayer. The third section is dedicated to the phenomenon of the translation workshop. The collection also publishes poetry and poetic translations of the author of the book: geographer, historian, writer, literary critic, chairman of the Mandelstam Society of Pavel Nerler (born 1952).
