The attention of readers is offered a book by the largest domestic historian and Slavist philologist A.L. Pogodin (1872-1947), in which a brief overview of the history of the Slavs is held. The work gives general information about the Slavic peoples, the history of the emergence of the Slavs in the regions where their states are now located is presented. The history of the Polish and Czech people is briefly considered. Separate chapters are devoted to the history of the South Slavic peoples of Austria-Hungary and the history of the Slavic states on the Balkan Peninsula.
