On March 3, 2018, the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Brest world has turned 100. Articles I.N. Novikova, S.N. Dmitrieva, M.M. Kononova, A.V. URYAVA (Russia), R. Alonzi (Italy), S. Trifovich and A. Timofeev (Serbia), A. Sivilov and I. Bayeva (Bulgaria) reveal the bizarre atmosphere of pre -war and pre -revolutionary Russia, which reigned against the backdrop of a general situation in Europe, diplomatic The maneuvers, customs characteristic of the revolutionary environment, a very special layer of problems associated with the reaction of the Malyshevik forces of Russia to the very fact of negotiations in Brest-Litovsk and their results. The book is completed by an article by a famous historian and public figure N.A. Narochnitskaya about the features of the formation of a system of international relations after the First World War, which is clearly manifested during the analysis of the so -called Russian issue. Of particular interest is the position of Western states regarding the conclusion of the Brest world, which has become a kind of "geopolitical cliche" in the relations of the West with the USSR, which later appeared whenever our state experienced military-political challenges.
