The book highlights the events of 1939-1947, relating to the dark side of the historiography of the city of Brest, not regarding the heroic defense of the Brest Fortress. Details of the departure from Brest of the last echelon with deported on June 22, 1941 are presented. Eyewitnesses are published about the living conditions of deported Belarusians in the city of Barnaul of the Altai Territory. It is described how Brest met his citizens who returned after the end of the war. In conclusion, the author considered it necessary to share some reasoning of a philosophical nature, which relate to the Belarusian mentality and events of August 2020 in Belarus.
