The Book of the Ruler of the Republic of Shan is one of the most significant monuments of the socio-political thought of ancient China. It sets out the teachings of Shan Yana (IV century BC) - the founder of the school of legists, who defended the despotic form of government. The teachings of Shang Jan, perceived by the Confucians in the period from the 3rd century. BC. e. In the III century. n. e., contributed to the transformation of Confucianism into state ideology, had a huge impact on the further development of the legislation and legal theories of China and remains still relevant for the modern policy of the PRC.
