The history of the Cosmos pavilion coincides with the most important stages of the country"s development in the XX-XXI centuries, from the first Soviet five-year-olds to perestroika and further, to modern Russia. At each historical segment, the pavilion was filled with ideas and concepts, which were of greatest interest for the country and society.
The book first gives the history of the pavilion as a logical sequence of interconnected stages: agricultural exposition, demonstration of industrial achievements, the largest show of space technologies, market trade expanse, revival and creation of a modern space museum. Each of the stages is carefully analyzed and presented in a popular exciting form.
The preparation of the book included long -term research in the central state archives, in museum funds, in the Archive of VDNH and other departmental archives, in private collections. The data collected in the archives were significantly enriched thanks to a personal interview with the heirs of architects, former pavilion staff, professional experts. Many architectural drawings, drawings, photographs, posters and documents are published in the book for the first time.
The book is addressed to all readers interested in history, culture and social life of Moscow and Russia. The book will also be useful for researchers, students, Moscow Crivers, museum workers, guides and other representatives of the professional community
