This collection of articles is dedicated to the history, ethnography and culture of the two Jewish communities of Crimea: Bnei Israel (sons of Israel - Crimean) and Bnee Mikra (the sons of Scripture - Karaim) It includes diverse essays, articles and archival documents, of interest for both specialists and a wide range of readers who are fond of Karaite-Krymchak theme, the history and ethnography of the peoples of Crimea. Written in the popular science manner, the articles are equipped with an extensive bibliography and detailed editorial comments. Most of the materials of the collection are published for the first time and tell readers about ethnocultural contacts between Karaites and Crimeans.
The book is dedicated to the bright memory of the famous researcher-laborer, Krymchak L.I. Kaya (1912–1988), whose unrelated works compiled a separate section of the collection.
