Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the University of Jorg Ganzensmun, based on documentary materials, explores one of the most tragic pages of the history of World War II - the blockade of Leningrad. The Hanzenmuller studies the motives and goals of the Wehrmacht near Leningrad, the causes of the blockade and the investigation are severe life, cruel hunger, suffering and death of people, analyzes the military operations of the parties near the walls of the city, the problems of evacuation of industrial facilities and people. The author pays particular attention to the world"s public opinion about this grave crime of fascism against humanity, while expressing his view of the idea of Soviet people about heroism and patriotism
