The book is dedicated to the history of Belarusian state construction in the context of the Sovetskoye confrontation in 1918–1921. During the period from the Brestlite peace conference to the signing of the Sovetskopol Peace Treaty in 1921, state formations were consistently proclaimed in the Belarusian territories: the Belarusian People’s Republic, the Lithuanian -School of the Soviet Republic, the BSSR. Poland tried to realize his scenario of the restoration of the Union Lithuanian -Council of State, and then the creation of the Belarusian autonomy. The book finds out the motives of decisions made by the RSFSR and Poland on the territorial and national problems of the region. An analysis of the positions of the basic political forces of Belarus on the question of the fate of the Belarusian lands in the context of the division of the region, forms of participation of the Belarusian political groups in determining the fate of their homeland was carried out. What factors influenced the territorial claims of Poland against the RSFSR at the first stage of the Polscosovar conflict in February 1919 - April 1920? How was the Belarusian problem solved during the Soviet and Soviet and Soviet peace conferences in 1920-1921? The slogans of national self -determination became only a cover for a clash of the interests of the two powers, which had far -reaching consequences for the region, which ended up at the junction of the Versailles and Soviet security systems
