The book of the Iranian author, Newbutorba Sihaiypush, is devoted to the history of the Baghdad House of Wisdom (Baita al-Hikma) and a number of similar institutions that existed in the Muslim East, which can be considered one of the prototypes of the modern Academy of Sciences. The study gives an analysis of the sociocultural context and historical conditions of the emergence of this phenomenon, which has absorbed the traditions of the scientific publications of the ancient East and the ancient world, is considered closely related to the House of Wisdom “Translation Movement” and its main figures. The author introduces the reader to the theme of translations and the original works of scientists of the House of Wisdom, their most significant achievements and the contribution to the progress of Islamic civilization.
