The paradox of half -empty stores and full refrigerators was noted literally every USSR who came to the USSR during the years of socialist stagnation. The riddle has a simple explanation. State trade under socialism has never been the only source of supply of the population. In the country there has always been an extensive legal and underground market for goods and services. This book returns the reader to the origins of socialist trade, to the legendary first five -year planes. The focus is in the daily life of society in the conditions of the nationalization of the economy, the destruction and revival of the market.
