This book is dedicated to one of the most interesting but insufficiently studied periods of the history of Bactria: the era of bronze - early iron until the fall of Achaemenid domination under the blows of the army of Alexander the Great. The work is based on the results of research by the author of the archaeological monuments of North Bactria (the most outstanding among them are the monuments of the Bangyan oasis and thalashkantep), as well as on the great discoveries and achievements of Soviet archaeologists and historians. Although the book is of a popular science character in it is affected and to some extent, some cardinal problems of the bacteria of this era are solved, in particular the origin of the civilization of Margush, which, according to the author, was created by Dravids, and the stay of the Assyrians and Medes in Bactria, recorded in a number of archaeological evidence, rehabilitating to some extent the information of the ancient Greek author of the Knidsky Cat
