The book tells about the stories, traditions, deployment, the principles of selection and personnel of one of the units of its own imperial majesty-the team of Muslims, formed in 1839 and reorganized in 1856 in the 4th platoon (Muslims) of the Caucasian Life Guards (Muslims) of the Caucasus Squadron S.E.I.V. convoys. For 42 years, until the abolition of the Life Guards of the Caucasian squadron S.E.I.V. The convoy in 1881, in this unit of the Russian Guard, the Azerbaijanis served.
A significant part of the book is published by the biographical essays of officers, as well as all the lower ranks serving in the team and a platoon of Muslims: more than 200 ranks were released from the ranks of this unit to the Russian army officers.
The book presents about 100 unique illustrations identified in the archives and museums of Russia and Azerbaijan. Many of them are published for the first time.
