The study of A.V. Shumkin is devoted to the ancient Hunshah and his revival in the late Middle Ages. The author uses a new look to connect the information of eastern and Western sources on the history of the accident. He establishes a direct connection between the Avar Kaganate in Pannonia and the possession of Sarir in the mountains of the East Caucasus on the one hand, and the Avar Nutsalism in Dagestan of the XVI-XIX centuries on the other. The book also reveals the laws of the genre of Muslim pseudobiographic literature
