The famous German scientist, the author of many works on theology, a professor at the University of Hettingen presented the history of the Arab caliphate - once a huge and powerful empire. Noting the inextricable connection of the political, religious and administrative power of the Arab caliphate, the author analyzes the history of the emergence of Islam, its development, features and community with other main world religions. He talks about how the rulers came to power and died when they took office and the governors of the most important provinces were resigned, whom the caliphs appointed to lead Hajj every year and how the conquest campaigns were held. In his study, Wellhausen relied on original sources - examples of ancient Arab historical literature, Kufi and Medina traditions. Among the authors cited authors are such authorities as Abu Mikhnaf, Attabari, Ibn Iskhak, Abu Mashar, Alvakidi
