In the monograph of the historian, philosopher, publicist, associate professor of the Department of Philosophy of the MPSU and activist of the anarchist movement of Peter Ryabov, various issues of the history and theory of anarchism, as well as the modern anarchist movement and worldview are considered. Among the heroes of the book: Pierre Joseph Proudhon, William Morris, Mikhail Bakunin, Alexander Herzen, Varlaam Cherkezov, Alexei Borova, as well as some brightest figures of modern Russian anarchism (1990–2000) The monograph also highlights the activities of the confederation of anarcho-syndicalists, tells about environmental, educational and publishing undertakings of modern Russian anarchists.
The author also considered questions about the attitude of anarchism and feminism, the libertarian criticism of the Internet and Technical Progress is given, democracy and anarchy are compared, a libertarian view of the Great Russian Revolution of 1917-1921, there are reflections on possible organizational forms of existence and development of modern anarchist movements.
