The monograph for the first time in domestic historiography explores such a specific topic as the course of campaigns in the US presidential election in the Cold War era since 1948. The study, among other things, considers the so -called “Russian factor” in American public policy and addresses the Soviet -American (and then Russian-American) relations during the presidential election in the United States, describing the influence of the Russian factor on American politics during campaigns. In addition, the author pays special attention to the personalities of presidential candidates, their views, election platforms and campaigns, primarily the geography of the pre -election tours, as well as the main speeches of the candidates that they said throughout the campaign. The work was written on the basis of an extensive base of historical sources: archival materials, official documents, hundreds ofires, periodicals, which are in general access on the Internet of reference data, etc
