The book belongs to the pen of an outstanding scientist of the twentieth century B.F. Porshneva, who developed the original and, as time has shown, the fruitful concept of the beginning of human history. Based on the achievements of domestic and foreign science in the field of anthropogenesis, psychology and physiology of higher nervous activity, he put forward and substantiated the idea of the determining role of the phenomenon of speech origin for the whole complex of ideas about the emergence of a rational person, which should be fundamentally distinguished from any erase paleoanthropes even if they were able to make primitive tools.
Despite the abundance of these specific sciences involved in the book that explore the problem of anthropogenesis, and their detailed substantive discussion, the book is distinguished primarily by the sequence in the presentation and justification of the constructive philosophical position regarding the author under consideration, and therefore many conclusions of the general nature retain their relevance for modern science, highlighting the most important nodal issues and guidelines of future research.
