Alexis de Tokville (1805-1859) - French statesman, Foreign Minister of France (1849), political thinker, historian and lawyer. In his activities, Tokville developed the ideas of classical liberalism by John Locke, which implied the equality of the capabilities of every citizen. In his work on democracy in America, the question of the correlation of concepts such as freedom, equality and democracy is considered. According to the author, the ideal of the state structure is observed in those countries where the government creates the conditions for the comprehensive development of society and does not regulate all the parties to its life without exception. Most of all, the United States of America corresponded to the described ideal, on the example of which the political scientist, following the agenda, illustrated the main aspects of the democratic state structure.
