This great tank battle, in which over 2,000 armored vehicles participated on both sides (much more than under Prokhorovka!), It remained “in the shadow”, since the documentation of the Soviet units was almost completely lost. These actions of the 20th Army in the Senno-Lepel region in early July 1941 became the last major offensive operation of the Red Army, in which mechanized corps of pre-war formation participated. This counterattack was supposed to close the huge gap formed in the Minsk direction after the catastrophe of the border battle, and restore the position of the Western Front
