A brief overview of the history of the Nikolo-Peshnoshsky Monastery from the 19th century to 2010

The study presents the history of the Dmitrovsky Territory and the Nikolo-Peshroshsky Monastery, pay attention to the economic activity of the monastery in the 19th century, its influence on public life in the country, relations with the state and the population, and on the formation of other monastery. With the involvement of the latest documents, the author reveals the tragic fate of the monastery in the twentieth century and its liquidation. Based on archival materials, the preparation and seizure of church values is shown, the last inhabitants of the monastery and their fate were identified, the name of the last rector and the date of liquidation of the monastery are established. Archival documents were first introduced into scientific circulation, including the manuscript of Hieromonk Jerome “Chronicle of the Peshnoshsky Monastery”
