The book analyzes a wide range of problems of socio-cultural anthropology. The main focus is to give a holistic understanding of the structure, methods of analyzing and the field of research of cultural (social) anthropology. The book consists of four parts. The first is devoted to the consideration of the theoretical problems of anthropological knowledge (the role of group differences in the stereotypes of the behavior, the problem of rapprochement of social and biological sciences about a person, the issue of interaction between various directions and research methods in cultural anthropology) The second part presents a historical and theoretical analysis of the development of ideas in cultural anthropology (primarily in the psychological direction) The third part is to demonstrate the possibilities of theoretical models developed in the cultural (social) anthropology for solving and studying the practical tasks of modern society (including Russia) The appendix presents the texts of American anthropologic scientists who have previously not published in Russian.
