The study manual is being implemented for the formation of professional competencies of a philologist, provided for by the State Educational Standard of the Third Generation. From the standpoint of literary hermeneutics, topical issues of the theory of genre and the historical poetics of the Russian classical story of the second half of the XIX century are illuminated. Based on the "removal" of the repetitive features of genre poetics, the typology of associated components of the artistic structure, taken not in the amount, but as historically established systemic unity, the paradigm of the genre is adjusted, within which the stage stage is described in its development. Strategy for the study of the conjuration of the "parts" and "of a whole" genre, ratios of sustainable and variable in it, determines the logic of the study of the poetics of genre-type Russian classical stories and the processes of artistic synthesis.
