“Young Guard” (1946) is the novel by Alexander Alexandrovich Fadeev (1901–1956), dedicated to the youth underground organization of the same name in Krasnodon during the Great Patriotic War during 1942-1943. Many members of this organization, ordinary young men and girls, being in the occupation zone, sacrificed everyone to help their country and their people win the war. The book describes the real feat of real people. The author shows the courage and strength of the spirit of the participants in the underground, who in a few months go from carefree children to selfless martyrs. This novel A.A. Fadeeva sets an example of real heroism and patriotism to his reader, forces at least remotely feel the importance and scale of the Great Patriotic War and think about how important it is to the last to protect what you believe in
