The story of a feat committed during the Great Patriotic War, members of the youth underground organization of the city of Krasnodon.
The young guys who have not managed to evacuate from the city decide to conduct an irreconcilable struggle with the German invaders and organize the underground group "Young Guard".
They manage to secretly conduct their activities until an annoying puncture occurs, which leads to a tragic finale.
