I present to your attention one of the episodes of the so -called "Winter" War, which occurred from November 1755 to May 1756 on Lake Ontario in North America. The uniqueness of this military campaign lies in the fact that the European armies of that time, as a rule, stopped conducting hostilities during the winter. This is exactly what happened in late October-November 1755, when the English and French armies, mutually realizing that during the summer season they have no longer achieved anything, parted into "winter apartments". However, after the New Year, the governor of Canada de Vodreny, having learned about the in spring the powerful offensive of the British at the French forts in the Ontario Lake region and the performance of the Confederation of Iroquois tribes on their side, was forced to unleash active fighting against the English fortress of Ledigo, from where the spring offensive was planned to begin. The culmination of this severe winter campaign will be the assault on a large Franco -Indian detachment of an important English supply base - Fort Bull
