Alexander Vasilievich Barchenko (1881, Yelets - 1938, Moscow) - one of the most mysterious personalities of the first third of the 20th century. The occultist and traveler, journalist and scientist, subsequently employee of the OGPU special department for the study of paranormal phenomena, oriental mysticism and parapsychology.
