The story takes place at the end of the XIV century, in one of the most dramatic periods of the formation of the Russian state - the gathering of the forces of Russian princes to combat the Golden Horde and the unification of their principalities around Moscow.
Golden Horde, Crimeans, Lithuanians, Fryazi ... Against the backdrop of this historical crowded, obvious enemies and temporary, unreliable allies of Russia, the fate of the protagonist - a ten -year -old orphan of Vasily unfolds. He miraculously gets to the court of the Ryazan prince and on the eve of the Battle of Kulikovo receives an important task from him, the fulfillment of which can significantly affect the outcome of the upcoming battle. Will Vasily be able to cope with the princely assignment?
