In 1906-1907, the life of the writer Leonid Andreev was saturated and complex. Andreev is already famous and is under the patronage of M. Gorky, returns from a long trip to Europe to Russia. The first beloved wife died, Andreev drinks a lot and foresaw the most terrible years in the history of the Fatherland. Therefore, the prose of these years is so different: from strict naturalism (the story "Dark") to a mystical flight from the void (the story "Judas Okariot") This collection presents other works of this period: "Eleazar" and "from the story that will never be over."
