With the name A.N. Ostrovsky is connected by a new era in the history of national drama: he discovered on stage a special world, which had previously previously been unknown to the Russian theater. In the variety of types and destinies, household and psychological shades, the brilliant master reflected the moral ideal of the people, contrasting in their works good and noble people, striving for light, truth, freedom, cruel tyranny. “Together with Ostrovsky, the truth itself and life itself appeared on the stage” (M.N. The collection includes two plays of an outstanding Russian writer - "Thunderstorm" and "Downstal", the study of which is included in the mandatory school curriculum
