Nikolai Gerasimovich Prymyalovsky (1835-1863) is known today by only three works. From the stories "philistine happiness" and "Molotov" in the language there were expressions "Chinese young lady" and "philistine happiness". But the "Essays on the Bursa" firmly took a place on a shelf with the great Russian literature of the 19th century. “He managed to say about Bursa and so that he fixed the topic forever ... written by Prymyalovsky was not just a creative act, but a civil act as an advanced fighter, he was the first to attacked the enemy "(Valery Sazhin) Prymyalovsky knew this enemy thoroughly. Father gave him to Bursa - the Alexander Nevsky Spiritual School - at the age of eight. He left Bursa, and then from the St. Petersburg Theological Seminary in twenty -two. His experience of study and education is the experience of a convict. In the book, he is present under the name of crucian carp. An amazing coincidence: "Essays on the Bursa" were published in one book of the journal Time (No. 5 for 1862) with "Notes from the Dead House" Dostoevsky - and this forever connected them in the perception of readers. It was the words "children"s hard labor" who most often sounded when discussing essays in society.
