The collection was compiled by A.B. Galkin, in the idea and unique materials of a wonderful Russian writer, theologian, priest, theater, literary critic and teacher S.N. Durylin. The book is dedicated to the annual cycle of Russian Orthodox and folk holidays in the works of writers, poets, cultural and public figures.
The collection includes the best texts selected by Durylin from the treasury of life and fiction, from poets of the Pushkin Pore to the creators of the Silver Age. Strictly following the idea of the collection, the compiler supplemented them with works, either inaccessible to Durylin at the time of work on the collection, or written after his death.
The basis of the book is the poetic cycle of Durylin "The crown of the summer", published completely for the first time, and excerpts from his prose.
