In this book, two novels by N.V. Gogol (Taras Bulba and Viy) are published from the Mirgorod cycle, which the author conceived, as you know, as a continuation of “Evenings on a farm near Dikanka”, suggesting to further introduce readers from The life and life of Little Russian peasants, Cossacks and small landowners. Gogol moved to the depiction of life of life from funny and romantic paramilks and Divchins, inspired and poetic descriptions of Ukrainian nature.
