“I, without doubt, would include this novel among the most outstanding, exalted and original achievements of the century, complete literature and literature - in the broadest sense of this definition,” the famous writer and philosopher Susan Umbrella wrote about “summer in Baden. Leonid Tsypkin is an underestimated classic of Russian literature: his prose was truly open only in the 2000s. “Summer in Baden”, one of the main achievements of the unquestioned prose of the 1970s, does not fit into the finished literary canon, but rather changes it, becoming on a par with such cult books as “Moscow-Petushki” by Venedikt Erofeev and “School for fools »Sasha Sokolov. In the mesmerizing rhythm of the novel, the storyteller’s trip from Moscow to Leningrad in the 1970s and the journey of F.M. Dostoevsky and his wife Anna Grigoryevna in Europe in 1867 are connected. In addition to the novel “Summer in Baden”, the book included other works by Leonid Tsypkin, as well as the photos of St. Petersburg places related to him, associated with the name of Dostoevsky.
